UMS discovers new horn-like fungal species in Danum Valley

Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) has discovered a new fungal species resembling horns in the Danum Valley Conservation Area, Lahad Datu. The species, named Pleurocordyceps cornusynnemata, has been confirmed as the first of its kind in the world following its publication in the international taxonomy journal Phytotaxa yesterday. Important Update: SaBAES Implementation for Access Licence Renewals

Effective 1 January 2026, all Access Licence renewal applications must be submitted exclusively via SaBAES. Applicants must notify the SaBC Secretariat at least three (3) months in advance to transfer existing data. Applications submitted through email or manual submission will no longer be accepted. For enquiries, contact the SaBC Secretariat at sabc.licence@gmail.com or 088-369 370.

SaBC Access & Export Licence Application System (https://sabcapps.sabah.gov.my) is officially closed

The SaBC Access & Export Licence Application System is now officially closed. All applications must be submitted via SaBAES Version 2.0.

Live SaBAES Version 2.0 – Effective 1 January 2026

SaBC is pleased to announce that the SaBAES Version 2.0 will officially go live on 1 January 2026. Starting from this date, all Access and Export Licence application must be submitted through the SaBAES platform (https://sabaes.sabah.gov.my/login).
